2014 Sochi Winter Games – Mark Borslein, Physiotherapist
Hello everyone, I’m writing this from a hotel in Frankfurt as I get ready for my flight to Sochi. In a couple hours, I will touch down and open my eyes to what I have already heard and seen as a fantastic time for Canadians. So far our athletes have been doing a fantastic job, putting Canada near the top in medal count. I’m here as part of a dream that began when I first worked in Whistler, realized in Vancouver 2010, and continued here in 2014. I have been fortunate to work with some great athletes and physiotherapists in Whistler and at Gastown Physio & Pilates.
I’m excited to see a couple athletes in particular, up in the mountains of Sochi:
Mike Riddle – Men’s Freestyle Ski: Halfpipe (competes Feb 18th 10:45 AM PST)
Matt Margetts – Men’s Freestyle Ski: Halfpipe (competes Feb 18th 10:45 AM PST)
Maelle Ricker – Women’s Snowboarder Cross (competes on Feb 16th 2:00 AM PST)
I’m also excited to hang out with physiotherapist extraordinaire (and Team Canada Snowboard Physio) Marilyn Adams. After the 17th, look forward to our adventures in Coastal Sochi.
Hopefully I will have regular internet access and the photos will be outstanding and the stories… well I’m going to see what interesting things I can get up to…
