Kate Young, Physiotherapist

Kate graduated from the University of Toronto with a Masters of Science in Physical Therapy. She also graduated with Honours from McGIll University with a Bachelor of Science and had her thesis research published in The Journal of Pain. Kate has obtained her Medical Acupuncture Certification from McMaster University, and is currently working towards her Advanced Diploma in Manual and Manipulative Therapy.

Kate’s area of focus includes:

  • Medical Acupuncture
  • Chronic Pain Management

As a physiotherapist, Kate has worked in private practice, primarily in orthopaedics and sports rehabilitation. She has experience treating a wide range of injuries, including post-operative, repetitive strain, and chronic pain for a broad client base – from the weekend warriors to professional athletes. Her therapeutic focus is to develop an individualized treatment plan, using manual therapy, education, acupuncture, and specific movement and strength training depending on the individuals’ needs and goals. Kate strongly emphasizes education for each client in order to promote long-term injury prevention.
